I don't know why, but some are still wondering whether Rin is dead or not. It's getting pretty annoying to see what some say. For instance, the woman Kakashi talked to before the Third's funeral... that is NOT Rin! That is Yugao Uzuki!!!! She was Hayate Gekko's lover!! Don't believe me go here: [link]
Now, also to prove that she is dead. If Rin was alive, don't you think she'd hang around with Kakashi? After all, she did have a liking to him. You might say, "Well, after Kakashi told Rin that he abandoned her and that Obito loved her, that could've changed things!" True. But I think she'd still be hanging around him or at least she'd talk to him.
Then we have the fact that Kakashi said everyone he cared for was dead. As seen during the bell test and that little talk between him and Sasuke. Seen here: [link]
Also, the most recent, and most proving, evidence so far is when Kakashi dies. Oh, how all Kakashi-fangirls, including me, remember that incident... Anyway, in chapter 425 Hatake, Kakashi, he says that he couldn't protect Rin and hopes for Obito's forgiveness. Now that is assuming that the translation is correct. But think about it!!!! Translations may be off a little, they're never word-for-word, but the point is that you get the point. Second panel, the proof: [link]


I hope this helped you figure it out, now I suppose she could've faked her death or something (we all know how twisted things can get, like the end of chapter 455), but I HIGHLY doubt it. I am 99% positive that she is dead. I'm not trying to be rude, I'm just trying to help.
